Suomenlinna Day Trip

At 1.30 pm, we'll meet by Alexander's column. Once we're all there, we'll board a ferry that'll take us to the famous Suomenlinna Island - home to one of the largest sea fortresses in the world.

In just 15 minutes, we'll arrive at this island off the southern coast of Finland and we'll start a walking tour to discover all its natural and historical landmarks. For instance, the Suomenlinna fortress was built in the mid-18th century and it served as a defensive stronghold and camp for war prisoners.

We'll explore the barracks at the pier, the kings' gate, and, of course, the Suomenlinna church, which stands out for the turquoise colors on its roofs and its bell tower. Also, the guide will tell us some of the most surprising facts about the island and its connection to Helsinki.

After having a great time on the island, we'll return by ferry to Helsinki, ending the tour at 4 pm.
