On this guided tour of Plovdiv, explore its streets, temples, and Roman ruins—a cultural gem full of history and surprises!

Tour Details

We'll meet at the scheduled time at the Eastern Gate of Philippopolis, the entrance to the heart of ancient Plovdiv. From here, we'll begin our guided tour of one of the oldest cities in Europe, which has been continuously inhabited for more than six millennia.

First, we'll walk to the Roman Theater, one of Bulgaria's best-preserved gems. Built in the 1st century, this majestic venue still hosts performances and concerts. We'll tell you about cultural life in ancient Thrace as you admire its impressive stands.

A few steps away, we'll explore the remains of the Roman Stadium, which once hosted athletic competitions and public events. Today, its ruins are integrated among modern buildings, revealing the importance of Plovdiv during the Roman Empire.

The walking tour will continue in the Kapana district, known as the Creative Quarter. This maze of narrow streets overflows with street art, artisan workshops, cafes, and galleries. It is undoubtedly the best place to feel the contemporary pulse.

Next, we'll stroll along Plovdiv's main street, considered the longest pedestrian street in Europe. As we walk, we'll tell you how the city has continually reinvented itself without losing its essence.

We'll then ascend to the Old Town, also known as the Revival District, where the colorful 19th-century Bulgarian houses stand out. Their decorated façades and inner courtyards reflect the prosperity of that era. Perfect spot for photos!

Finally, we'll arrive at Raiko Daskalov Street, in the heart of the historic center, where the tour concludes after approximately 2 hours.
