Pompeii Ancient Roman Lunch
Enjoy a unique food experience in Pompeii and visit a restaurant that imitates the ancient taverns with this Ancient Roman Lunch. You'll taste dishes from ancient recipes, dress up in period costumes and enjoy traditional music.
Pompeii Ancient Roman Lunch
After picking you up from your hotel in Pompeii at 12 pm, we'll take you by minibus to the restaurant to enjoy a traditional lunch in the style of the Ancient Roman Empire.
To begin this peculiar journey back in time, you'll be provided with costumes so that you can dress up as authentic Romans. When you're ready, you can enter the restaurant's lounge.
The decoration of the restaurant tries to imitate an ancient caupona, as the taverns of the Roman Empire were known - in Pompeii there were 89! The wooden tables, the beautiful wall paintings, the amphorae and the terracotta dishes recreate the tavern Lucio Vetuzio Placido, one of the most famous in Antiquity.
You'll enjoy the melodies of the lyres as you take your seat and are served your meal. The menu will vary according to the period, but will always be inspired by the recipes of Marcus Gavius Apicius, the most important gastronome of Roman times. You'll enjoy a starter, a main course and a dessert, as well as water and a glass of wine.
With your appetite satisfied, we'll take you back to your hotel to end the activity at approximately 3:30 pm.
