Boat Ride along Venice Lagoon
Description
We'll meet at the Punta Sabbioni bus station, and from there, we'll kick off this captivating boat journey across the Venice Lagoon. As we board the boat, we'll leave Punta Sabbioni behind and set sail to navigate the waters of the world's most renowned coastal saltwater lagoon.
As we make our way across the lagoon, you'll have the chance to marvel at the remarkable MOSE project. This tidal defense system is a testament to modern engineering and its critical role in safeguarding Venice from the threat of flooding.
Continuing our route, we'll arrive at the charming island of Lido, graced by its golden sandy beaches and rich historical storied past. Our route will take us past the ancient Fort of Sant'Andrea, which guards the Venice Lagoon entrance and the San Servolo Island. It's a captivating voyage filled with picturesque sights and rich history.
We'll also pass by Armeni Island, the Venice Biennale Gardens, and, in the end, we'll be greeted by the majestic island of San Giorgio. Here, the impressive Church of San Giorgio Maggiore takes center stage, providing a magnificent view.
After 35 minutes we'll return to Punta Sabbioni, bringing our ride to an end.
