Climb aboard a Polaris all-terrain vehicle and head into Reserva Nativa in the Yucatan jungle. You will discover Mexico’s rich and varied biodiversity from the comfort of the automobile, and visit a traditional gum collector’s camp, besides much more.
Jeep Safari in Reserva Nativa
After collecting you from your hotel on the Riviera Maya, we will head to Cancun to explore the natural beauty of Reserva Nativa, a jungle enclosure brimming with wonderful surprises. Once there, we will perform the welcome ritual to ask for permission and protection from the Yucatan ‘gods’, known as ‘aluxes’.
When everyone is ready, we will board the all-terrain vehicles and head into the jungle. Our first stop will be the observation deck of Reserva Nativa, where we will enjoy a beautiful panoramic view from 20 meters high up.
We will continue our tour at the historical gallery of the park, which is the perfect place to learn all about the characteristics of the animal species that inhabit Reserva Nativa. After, we then travel back in time to the Mayan Civilization at Nativa Wild, an area in a small village where the Mayans will teach us to cook beans and to make tortillas using a traditional wooden press. This really is an authentic jungle experience!
We leave the best to last, and at the end of the afternoon, you will climb into a canoe to sail around the Dakini lagoon. Peace, tranquillity, and a dreamlike landscape will accompany us on the journey. On disembarking, you will encounter the Mayan stingless bees which are native to this region.
To finish, we will take a refreshing dip in the park´s pool before returning to the hotels on the Riviera Maya.
Night time jeep safari
If you prefer to do this tour in the evening, then you can choose this option when making the reservation. The night trip lasts 7 hours. We will follow the same itinerary as the daytime safari, except for the historical gallery of the park and the Mayan house of Reserva Nativa.
You will experience a nighttime canoe trip on the Dakini lagoon, and you can gaze up at the constellations from the park’s observation deck. You will also taste a delicious dinner in the traditional palapa hut of Reserva Nativa.
