Cajón del Maipo + Colina Hot Springs Tour

At 10:30 am we'll pick you up at your hotel in San José de Maipo and drive by minibus to Cajón del Maipo. During this day, we'll explore this impressive Chilean canyon and get to know its many charms.

We'll first come to the Melocotón train station. We'll board this historic railway and take an hour-long trip that will allow us to admire the beauty of the Cajón del Maipo canyon.

Have you ever heard of the phoenix project in relation to this train? We'll tell you all about this ambitious plan while we enjoy spectacular views from the train. In the past, this route was the main communication axis between San José de Maipo and Santiago. 

We'll return to the main station of the Melocotón Train and continue the excursion approaching the El Tinoco tunnel, through which the railway used to pass. From here, we'll be able to see the true beauty of the Maipo River - get ready to snap some amazing photos!

The next stop will be at the El Membrillo mine, located in the village of El Volcán. We'll put on our helmets, take our flashlights and go deep into the earth to learn about the importance of the mining culture in Cajón del Maipo.

After coming back up from the mines, we'll go straight to the Colina hot springs - ready to relax? It's one of the most popular tourist attractions in Cajón del Maipo, and after enjoying 2 whole hours here of total bliss, you'll understand why! Some say that the waters even have medical properties...

Then, we'll recharge our batteries with a barbecue lunch accompanied by a cocktail and wine.

We'll finish the excursion at 5:30 pm and leave you at your hotel.
