At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Santiago to start this day trip in a reduced group to Cajón del Maipo. Are you ready to discover one of Chile's natural gems? Let's go!
Our first destination of the day will be San José de Maipo, a picturesque town with a rich cultural heritage about 31 miles (50 kilometers) from the Chilean capital. Here, you'll discover its history and folklore, and you can enjoy breakfast on your own.
After, we'll continue the tour and make a stop so you can take pictures at the shores of the Maipo River, whose waters flow directly from Andean glaciers. We'll continue our tour toward the spectacular Embalse del Yeso, famous for its intense turquoise blue waters. If the weather allows, we'll go on a short hike in its surroundings.
Depending on the weather, we'll also stop at the Parque Salto El Yeso, where you can admire the beauty of this area. Next, we'll head to Las Melosas and the Puente El Cristo, two emblematic spots in Cajón del Maipo with stunning scenic views.
Later, we'll make a stop so you can grab a bite to eat at one of the restaurants in the area. It'll be a great opportunity to try Chilean cuisine in a unique environment.
After lunch, we'll visit the famous Casa Chocolate, the perfect spot for those with a sweet tooth. Then, we'll enjoy a small picnic including cheeses, olives, salami, wine, and juices.
Lastly, we'll stop at the Plaza de San José de Maipo before starting our journey back to Santiago de Chile. Finally, we'll say our goodbyes at your hotel 9 hours after pickup.
