Yampara Community Day Trip
Yampara Community Day Trip
At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Sucre and set off on our 1-hour 30-minute road trip.
On this day trip, we'll visit a Yampara community. The Yampara are one of the most ancient Indigenous Peoples in the South American continent. We'll learn all about their customs, which go back for hundreds of years, and how they keep deeply rooted Bolivian cultural values alive today.
We'll see the typical adobe houses here and meet the locals so we can learn first-hand about their way of life and traditions. In addition, we'll hear some fascinating legends and stories about this place.
In addition, we'll visit a chichería. This is the name given to the typical bars found in these communities. We'll also see some of the handicrafts made by the Yampara, such as the different woven textiles they create. During our visit, we'll observe how the women make their colourful fabrics and learn how they use plant-based products to make natural medicines.
It'll then be time to say goodbye to the Yampara community and return to Sucre. We'll drop you off at your hotel at 2 pm.
