Modernist Tarragona Guided Tour
Tarragona is a beautiful Mediterranean city full of emblematic Modernist architecture. Discover its most iconic monuments on this guided walking tour!
Modernist Tarragona Guided Tour
At the appointed time, we'll meet at the Balcony of the Mediterranean, in the heart of Tarragona to begin our tour of its most important modernist buildings.
Accompanied by a guide, we'll discover the most emblematic buildings of Modernism, an artistic movement that emerged in the late 19th century and transformed the streets of the center of Tarragona.
The route through modernist Tarragona will take us through places like the Metropol Theatre, Casa Ximenis and the Convent of the Teresian Order. But the architect with the most modernist works in the city is Josep Maria Pujol de Barberà. We'll see many of his buildings walking along the Rambla Nova, among which stands out the building of the Rectorate of Rovira i Virgili University and the Ripoll House.
We'll also see the municipal market of Pujol de Barberà and, after two hours of walking, we'll finish the tour of modernist Tarragona by visiting the Mausoleum of King Jaume I, the work of the architect Lluis Domenech i Montaner.
