Tricarico Private Tour

At your selected time, your guide will be waiting for you at the entrance of the Norman Tower, the first stop of your private tour of Tricarico. Ready to discover all its secrets?

From the outside, we'll observe this imposing fortified building, erected in the 9th to 10th centuries as a fortress and equipped with a strong tower. Rebuilt in the Norman-Swabian period, between the 11th and 13th centuries, today the Norman Tower stands in all its splendor as a symbolic monument of the Lucanian town.

After discovering the history of the fortified part of the city, we'll begin to explore the streets of the historic center of Tricarico. Along the way, we'll see the Church of Santa Chiara and the Palazzo Ducale, which for centuries was the residence of one of the great houses of the Kingdom of Naples, the Sanseverino. Currently, the Palazzo houses the Archaeological Museum of Tricarico, where the artifacts found in the area are preserved.

We'll walk through the streets of the Ràbata and Saracena districts, as well as the areas of Norman Monte and Piano, until we reach the Church of Santa Maria del Carmine, where we'll enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the city. Then, we'll check out the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, a building dating back to the 12th century and renovated in the 17th century.

After two hours of exploring the city, you'll say goodbye to your guide and the tour will conclude.
