Travel through time to ancient China, hiking the remote Jinshanling section of the iconic Great Wall. Discover the fascinating history and spectacular views of this mythical area of the world.
Jinshanling Great Wall Hike Itinerary
Your day trip will begin between 5:40 and 7:50 am, when you'll be picked up from your chosen meeting point. From there, you'll head out of Beijing in the direction of Jinshanling, a remote and isolated section of the Great Wall of China. There will be a short stop on the route for breakfast (not included).
After around a two and a half hour journey, you'll arrive in Jinshanling, located 87 miles (140 km) to the northeast of the Chinese capital. Built by the Ming Dynasty from the 16th century, this part of the Great Wall connects the Simatai section to the east with the Gubeiko section to the west.
Throughout your hiking route, which will last around three and a half hours, you'll be able to enjoy the awe-inspiring views that Jinshanling offers over the surrounding Chinese countryside. As very few tourists make the longer journey to this area of the Great Wall, it is usually a relatively peaceful trek and an unforgettable experience for fans of hiking.
The hike finishes in Wuyanlou, you'll take a well-deserved break at a local restaurant, fuelling up and treating your taste buds with a delicious lunch of typical Chinese cuisine.
At the end of your tour, you'll return to Beijing, where you'll be dropped off at your pick up point at around 4 pm.
