Mai Chau 2 Day Trip
Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau
We depart from Hanoi and head to the valley of Mai Chau - an area of breathtaking natural beauty situated in a remote rural corner in northern Vietnam. The landscapes here are characterized by a patchwork of rice fields and lush green meadows speckled with tiny traditional villages. While you explore the different spots of Mai Chau you will also learn all about the customs and traditions of the White Thai people who are native to this part of the country.
Our route continues at the Thung Khe Pass which offers a magnificent viewpoint over the beautiful landscapes of Mai Chau. Around midday, we will head to the home of a traditional Vietnamese family to enjoy a typical local lunch. This is the perfect opportunity for you to try the authentic gastronomy of the country.
After eating, we then start our bicycle ride through Mai Chau. As we head along the rural roads and tracks in this picturesque region of Vietnam, you will have the opportunity to observe the local way of life from up close. The day finishes back at the traditional family home where we will eat and rest until the following day.
Day 2: Mai Chau – Hanoi
After having breakfast with the host family, we will start a guided bike tour around Mai Chau of around 1.5 miles. This route will take us the some of the most remote villages in the region such as Na Meo, Na Mo, and Xam Pa, where you can continue learning about the local way of life. Then we head back to the house to enjoy another traditional lunch. In the evening, after having some free time to rest and relax in the village, we will return to Hanoi on board our airconditioned vehicle.
