Alternative Tour of Malaga
Malaga's markets, traditional shops and unique buildings deserve a visit as much as the historic centre. Discover a different side to the city with this alternative walking tour route.
Itinerary
As well as its beautiful historic and cultural centre, the city of Malaga is also home to many other interesting areas which, while lesser known by the public, are still undoubtedly worth a visit. After learning some curious facts about Malaga's Semana Santa, or Holy Week, you'll wander down to the Puerta Nueva area, where the Carmen Thyssen Museum is located.
The tour will continue to Malaga's most famous market square: the Atarazana Central Market. You'll explore its different stands, each selling a wide variety of regional specialities, and get to sample a selection of local products, giving you a better taste of the area's most popular recipes.
Before returning to the original meeting point, the route will pass by several other iconic places such as Puente de los Alemanes, the 'The German Bridge'. Malaga is thousands of kilometres from Germany, and yet, an agreement at the beginning of the 20th century united the two, resulting in this bridge...
