Wine Tour of Montevideo for Cruise Passengers
Are you coming to the Uruguayan capital by boat? Enjoy this tour of Montevideo for cruise passengers which includes a tasting of local wines. This is an essential trip for lovers of the drink.
Wine Tour of Montevideo for Cruise Passengers
After collecting you from the port of Uruguay's capital, we will begin our panoramic tour of the most important landmarks in Montevideo. Close to the central Independence Square, you will see iconic monuments such as the Solis Theatre and the Metropolitan Cathedral.
Our route then continues through the pretty neighborhood of El Prado and to the famous 'La Carreta' national monument. Behind this sculpture dedicated to the traditional gaucho way of life, you will see the Estadio Centenario stadium, which hosted the first World Cup in 1930.
When our tour of Montevideo has come to an end, we head to the wine growing regions on the outskirts of the city. Depending on the season, and the availability, we will visit either the Bouza, Pizzorno, or Juanico traditional winery. Besides exploring the premises, you will also enjoy a tasting of a variety of wines produced with the Tannat grape. As a perfect accompaniment, you will also enjoy a selection of cheeses and local hams.
After your tour of the winery has finished, we will take you back to the port in Montevideo.
