No trip to Reims is complete without visiting the magnificent Palace of Tau, where traditionally, the kings of France would stay in the days before their coronation.
Palace of Tau Tickets
This ticket lets you visit the archbishop's palace of Tau, located in the heart of Reims. As you walk through the elegant gates, you will feel that you have transported back to a time when the French monarchs were crowned in the city's Gothic cathedral. The Palace of Tau was the place where future kings dressed for the glorious ceremony. From here they went to the holy temple to fulfill their destiny.
Inside, you will explore the rooms that are still preserved in their original condition. Among them is the chapel from 1207, which was rebuilt after a fire in September 1914. Today, the Palais de Tau has become a museum and is also home to the treasury, where you can admire the fascinating objects used in the coronations.
