Day Trip to Plovdiv & Perushtitsa
At the scheduled time, we'll come and pick you up from your hotel in Sofia and then our fabulous day trip will begin.
We'll drive for approximately two hours, until we reach the city of Plovdiv, one of the oldest human settlements in Europe, which is home to a large amount of Roman history.
Your guide will take you around the streets and show you important sights such as the Roman Stadium, the Roman Forum and the Amphitheatre. You'll feel as if you've stepped back in time as you discover these historical places.
Next, we'll head to Perushtitsa. Here you'll have the chance to learn about another important part of Bulgarian history as this city was the last rebel stronghold against the Ottoman Empire in 1876.
In this city, you'll visit the St Michael The Archangel church, the History Museum and the famous red church. Here, you'll find out all about Perushtitsa's secrets.
To finish this day trip on a high note, the last stop will be at the Villa Yustina Winery. You'll be able to enjoy a wine tasting of the most characteristic wines in Bulgaria- cheers!
