Tour to Sama Reserve & Laguna Grande of Tajzara
Tour to Sama Reserve & Laguna Grande of Tajzara
At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Tarija and head to the Cordillera de Sama Biological Reserve, popularly known as Sama Reserve.
The tour will start by heading west towards the eastern mountain range of Sama, characterized by a rugged topography of slopes, plateaus, and lagoons. Along the way, you'll also be able to admire the views of Tarija's central valley and its rocky landscapes.
We'll first make a stop to stretch our legs in the village of San Lorenzito, then we'll continue on to the nature reserve. We'll visit the most representative points of this mountain range, such as the La Falda Tunnel, which we'll cross to admire the beautiful landscape of the Bolivian altiplano, or Iscayachi, a picturesque village where we'll see its charming adobe church.
At noon, we'll take a break for a picnic lunch that will include a sandwich, water, and fruit.
After a panoramic walk through the Sama Reserve, we'll move on to the Laguna Grande of Tajzara, a natural enclave surrounded by golden sand dunes. Here you'll have time to enjoy the scenery, see the flamingos that inhabit the shores of the lake, and connect with nature.
Afterwards, we'll go to the town of Copacabana, where we'll visit an artisan weaving workshop before returning to Tarija. We'll drop you off back at the pickup point between 4 and 5 pm.
Pickup
The tour includes pickup from hotels in the center of Tarija. If your accommodation is outside this area, you'll have to go to the meeting point located on Bolivar street.
