What is the Swiss Travel Pass?
The Swiss Travel Pass is an electronic pass that allows you to enjoy unlimited travel on trains, buses and boats in Switzerland over your chosen period of time.

Please keep in mind that the pass is not valid for residents of Switzerland and Liechtenstein and that it doesn't allow you to cross the border between Switzerland and another country.

Swiss Travel Pass Validity
The Swiss Travel Pass is valid from the start date at midnight. For example, if you purchase a 4-day pass with a start date of July 24th, its validity will end on 28 July at 5 am. The pass is also valid after the last day until the next morning if you travel overnight. For this, the journey must be completed before 5 am and cannot be extended.
The Swiss Travel Pass is valid for 3, 4, 6, 8 or 15 consecutive days.
How Does it Work?
Using the Swiss Travel Pass is very easy. After making your reservation, you will receive a confirmation email with a QR code, which you can print or carry on your cell phone.
This way, you won't have to queue at train, bus or boat station ticket offices. You'll be free to board any of these public transport services and, if the ticket inspector asks for your ticket, all you have to do is show them your QR code in printed format or on your mobile phone. It's as simple as that!
In the case of cable cars, funiculars and mountain trains, which have a reduced price with the pass, you'll have to show your QR code at the ticket office to get the discounted ticket.
For museums included in the pass, you'll have to show your QR code at the ticket office to get free admission.
Nevertheless, please note that the pass for the museums and the mountain trains will only be valid for the selected days of travel.
Swiss Travel Pass Flex
If you choose this option, your pass will be valid for 3, 4, 6, 8 or 15 non-consecutive days within a month. Therefore, with the Swiss Travel Pass Flex you will have more flexibility in choosing the days you want to travel.
Important! The museum pass integrated with the Swiss Travel Pass Flex is only valid on the selected travel days. This also applies to mountain excursions: the discount of up to 50% is only valid on the selected travel dates and not for a whole month.
Please note that unlike the Swiss Travel Pass, with the Swiss Travel Pass Flex you will need to activate your pass prior to your trip. We'll provide you with simple instructions on how to do this on your booking voucher.
Differences Between Swiss Travel Pass and Swiss Travel Pass Flex
The main differences between the two types of passes are in the validity and activation process:
Validity
- Swiss Travel Pass: valid for 3, 4, 6 or 15 consecutive days.
- Swiss Travel Pass Flex: valid for 3, 4, 6, 8 or 15 non-consecutive days within a month.
Activation
- Swiss Travel Pass: to take advantage of this pass, all you have to do is show the QR that you will receive by email after making your reservation.
- Swiss Travel Pass Flex: to enjoy its benefits, you need to activate this pass before your trip. We'll explain how to do this on your booking voucher.
