Travel back in time discovering Antigua Guatemala's colonial heritage on this tour of its most iconic monuments, before relaxing at Kawilal Hot Springs.
Antigua Guatemala & Hot Springs Tour
On the day of our tour, we'll meet at Calle Oriente 2 at 9 am and head to the La Merced Church, whose distinctive yellow Baroque façade is one of the symbols of the former Guatemalan capital. We'll continue exploring the historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, reaching the emblematic Santa Catalina Arch, another of Antigua's most iconic monuments.
Continuing on our tour of the old colonial city, we'll head to the Parque Central. This large square is a classic example of the urban planning that Spain applied in its colonies. We'll get to see the impressive façades of the City Hall, the Cathedral and the Palace of the Captain General, learning all about their history thanks to our English speaking guide. Our guided tour of Antigua Guatemala will come to an end with a visit to the Tanque de la Unión, an old public laundry area.
We'll then head east towards Lake Amatitlán, one of Guatemala's natural wonders. Here, we'll have the opportunity to renew our strength after a busy morning of sightseeing with lunch in a local restaurant before relaxing by diving into the thermal waters of Kawilal.
Kawilal Spa, built on top of natural hot springs, offers numerous health benefits thanks to its proximity to the Pacaya Volcano. Make the most of your time here enjoying the hydrotherapy baths and swimming in the thermal pools. You'll feel good as new afterwards!
After relaxing at the spa, we'll make our way back to the meeting point in Antigua.
