Panoramic Tour of Bariloche's Chico Circuit
On this panoramic tour of Bariloche, we'll explore Circuito Chico where sprawling landscapes of mountains, and crystalline lakes await!
Bariloche is known worldwide for being the heart of Andean Patagonia and for its Alpine-style architecture, which has earned it the nickname "Little Switzerland of Argentina.” It is also famous for being home to Cerro Catedral, the largest ski resort in the southern hemisphere, and for its incredible artisanal chocolate production, considered the best in the country.
Cerro Campanario, Victoria Island, Arrayanes Forest, seeing the ancient ice of the Black Glacier on Cerro Tronador, and, of course, enjoying a hot chocolate on Mitre Street.
To see the main attractions (Circuito Chico and Cerro Catedral), 3 days are enough. However, if you want to go to Victoria Island or take a day trip to the Seven Lakes, 5 to 6 days is ideal.
It depends on what you're looking for. If you want snow and skiing, come in July and August. If you prefer hiking and enjoying the lakes in the sunshine, the best time is from December to March.
It's a very safe and peaceful city, geared towards family tourism. As anywhere else, take care of your belongings in the busiest areas of the city center.
The airport is about 15 km (9.3 mi) away. The most convenient option is to book a private transfer with Civitatis. There are also regular buses, but you'll need a SUBE card, the payment method for public transportation in Argentina.
U.S. and EU citizens can visit Bariloche visa-free for tourism or business stays of up to 90 days. You must travel with a valid passport. If you hold a different citizenship, you should confirm whether or not you need a visa at the official government website.
Even in summer, it gets cool at night. Wearing layers is essential. Always bring a windbreaker or raincoat, comfortable shoes, and sunscreen, as the mountain sun is very strong.
If you don't have much time, we recommend taking the Circuito Chico tour, climbing Cerro Campanario, and visiting the iconic Hotel Llao Llao on the first day. On the second day, you can sail across Lake Nahuel Huapi to Victoria Island and the Arrayanes Forest. Finally, we recommend spending the third day in the high mountains visiting Cerro Tronador or, if you visit during winter, enjoying the snow at Cerro Catedral.

A fantastic activity. The location is incredible, the boat is super comfortable, and the staff is very knowledgeable and makes the tour enjoyable. The boat trip through the Arachanes area could be a bit longer. This is a must-do if you come to Bariloche.
