Anjar and Baalbek Trip
We will meet up in Beirut and then head into the stunning Beqaa Valley. Among the vineyards, we will arrive at our first destination of the day, Anjar.
Constructed between 705 and 715 by the Umayyad caliph al-Walid I, the town of Anjar still today has well-preserved ruins and evidence of the architectural tradition of that culture. We will explore the site and discover ancient marketplaces and palaces. Among these ancient stones, you will feel like you have traveled back to the era of the caliphates.
Continuing our journey to Baalbek, we will stop at what was once a Roman quarry where you will encounter a rock carved by the biggest man in the world. We will take a rest there to enjoy a tasty lunch before heading back on the road.
When we arrive at Baalbek, we will start to explore the most important complex of temples in the world. We will lose ourselves in the Temple of Bacchus, where, among the columns, you will feel like you are in an Indiana Jones film. You will stroll along stone streets, across pretty courtyards, and we will enter the majestic Temple of Jupiter so you can continue discovering the cultures and traditions that make up this historic city.
Later, we will return to Beirut where our tour finishes.
