Our guide Alejandro was excellent, with a lot of knowledge and humor he made the day very pleasant and pleasant despite his asthmatic condition and in the middle of an allergy attack (the pollen was rabid) he walked all the way accompanying us and showing the beauty of Cuenca and the Enchanted City. Thank you so much!!

Day Trip to Cuenca and Ciudad Encantada

At 8:30 am our coach will set off from Plaza del Conde de Casal in Madrid and head to the province of Cuenca, which was once an important Roman settlement.

Enjoy the colorful landscape during the one-hour journey until you get to Tarancón for a brief stop to go to the bathroom or grab a coffee. Next, stop at the Ciudad Encantada of Cuenca, where you'll follow an English-speaking guide through this Natural Site of National Interest full of peculiar rocks and distinct shapes. You’ll get the impression that you’ve wandered onto another planet! This park has also been a movie set for several films including Conan the Barbarian, starred by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The tour will then take us to the “Mirador del Ventano Diablo”, a spectacular overlook. Then we'll arrive in Cuenca and get a breathtaking view over the Jucar River Gorge. You’ll then have an hour and a half of free time in the Castle District to get lunch.

After eating, we'll proceed with a guided tour of Cuenca, where you’ll gaze at the famous “hanging houses” from the Puente de San Pablo, a colossal engineering marvel suspended over the river.

On the other side of the bridge is the Old Town. Your guide will lead you to the Cuenca Cathedral, where you’ll appreciate its Gothic façade. You’ll stroll through Calle Alfonso VIII flanked by colorful buildings. After the tour, you’ll have a short time to explore the city a bit more and buy a few souvenirs near Plaza Mayor.

At 6:45 pm you’ll drive back to Madrid and arrive at approximately 8:30 pm.
