Antigua Guatemala Day Trip
On this tour, you'll discover one of the best preserved colonial cities in Latin America: Antigua Guatemala. You'll walk around its colourful streets and explore its historic past.
Antigua Guatemala Day Trip
We'll meet at the Puerto Quetzal cruise terminal and travel in an air conditioned vehicle to one of the country's most visited places: Antigua Guatemala. The UNESCO World Heritage site is considered to be Latin America's best conserved colonial city and is well known for its Spanish-baroque style architecture.
As we walk around the city we'll learn about its history and traditions, while we admire the colonial Spanish influence on the buildings, parks, and ruins. You'll be captivated by the beautiful vibrant streets! We'll also walk past various market stalls where you might find a souvenir to remember your holiday.
Following on, we'll make our way to La Merced church, which stands out for being one of the most important temples in Antigua. Then we'll go to the iconic Santa Catalina Arch, built in the 17th Century, which for locals symbolises the city's resilience. Following on, we'll walk through Central Park to admire the San José Cathedral, which had to be rebuilt in 1680 following damage from several earthquakes.
Afterwards, we'll go to the Jade factory where we'll learn more about Mayan history and marvel at the sacred Mayan stone.
We'll have some free time to eat and buy some holiday gifts. When you make your reservation you can choose the option with food or the option without food. After, we'll meet and head back to Puerto Quetzal.
