We'll meet up at the scheduled time in the iconic Plaza de Ópera. Once everyone is together, we'll start this comprehensive guided tour of two iconic sights in the Spanish capital: the Royal Palace and the Almudena Cathedral.
First, we'll visit one of the most important buildings in Madrid, the Royal Palace. This is one of the largest palaces in Europe, with a total of 3,418 rooms. It's even bigger than Versailles and Buckingham Palace!
We'll go inside and see the main rooms of this Baroque masterpiece, including the Throne Room with frescoes by Tiepolo, the Main Staircase, the Column Hall, and the Chapel.
Right across from the Royal Palace of Madrid is the Almudena Cathedral. Did you know it took over 110 years to build? Throughout that time, its architectural style actually changed three times. From outside the church, we'll share some fun facts and tell you about the controversy surrounding its architecture.
After 2 hours and 15 minutes of exploring and learning, we'll wrap up the activity at the side entrance of the Almudena Cathedral.
