The urban forest of Karura is one of Nairobi's most spectacular natural spaces. Discover its variety of flora and fauna with this guided hike.
Hiking in the Karura Forest
Leaving our hotel in Nairobi, we'll make our way to the Karura forest, in a journey lasting only 30 minutes.
From there we'll hike through the forest, discovering its spectacular riches. Among the main attractions are the Karura waterfalls: surrounded by lush African foliage and colourful flowers.
During our tour of Karura we'll head to the famous Mau Mau caves - so called after they were discovered in 1953 by the Mau Mau freedom fighters. And as we pass through the forest you'll have the opportunity to enjoy the rich biodiversity of the area. The work put into preserving this ecosystem means that it's home to a large number of squirrels, hares, badgers, reptiles, bats, and above all a huge number of butterflies.
With a day immersed in the natural wonderland that is the Karura forest behind us, we'll take you back to your hotel.
