The region of Isla de Maipo, close to Santiago, is known for its excellent Chilean wines. On this tour, you will discover the wonderful vineyards and wineries where this delicious drink is produced.

Isla de Maipo Vineyard and Winery Tour

After collecting you from your hotel in Santiago de Chile, we will head to the wine growing region of Isla de Maipo.

Our first stop is at a traditional rural mansion, owned by a famous sculptor, and where we fill up on a hearty breakfast. Our tour continues at a traditional 'chichería' drinking house. These taverns are where people typically go to socialize and sip the regional chicha drink. This sweet liquor is made from maize and fruit and you will try different varieties for yourself during our visit.

Our excursion then takes us through different vineyards and wineries such as Santa Ema, Terramater and De Martino. The wine made in these locations is among the most highly regarded in all of Chile. A wine expert will teach you how to distinguish and appreciate the different characteristics of this tipple which is produced at the foot of Andes. The microclimate in this area allows products of the highest quality to be produced with a very unique flavor and smell. All this results in a treat for the palette.

After touring the premises and trying the delicious product, we will stop at a villa or hacienda in Isla de Maipo to refuel with a delicious traditional lunch. The menu includes different local specialties, such as larded meat, and, of course, the fantastic regional wine.

After eating we then head to an old vineyard which dates back to the 19th century to hear all about its fascinating history. At the end of the afternoon, we will finally return you to your accommodation in Santiago.
