Zaragoza Day Trip by High Speed Train

  • 12 hours

Set off on an independent full day-trip to Zaragoza on a comfortable and high-speed train from Madrid and discover this charming city and its top attractions with the Zaragoza Card.

Itinerary

Take a high-speed train at 8:30am from Madrid-Puerta de Atocha Railway Station and relax during the 1-hour-and-15-minute journey until you get to Zaragoza-Delicias train station.

Upon arrival, you’ll have a full day to visit Zaragoza, the capital of the autonomous community of Aragon, at your own leisure. The day trip includes a 24-hour Zaragoza Card, the city’s official tourist pass that includes free admission to the main monuments of the city to make the most of your time in the metropolis.

During your visit, don’t miss visiting the Cathedral of San Salvador also known as The Seo, a splendid example of Mudéjar-style architecture. Another popular landmark is the Basilica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar, which has a panoramic elevator with magnificent views over the Ebro River.

We recommend also visiting the Aljafería Palace, a beautiful eleventh-century fortified medieval Islamic palace. Moreover, Zaragoza has a very interesting Roman route, where you’ll see what life was like in the Roman city called Caesaraugusta. It consists of four archaeological museums: a theatre, a forum, the fluvial port and public thermal baths.

The Zaragoza Card also includes access to the city’s public transportation and you can also take a free hop-on, hop-off bus tour, a comfortable way of discovering the city.

The train to Madrid departs at 7:43pm from the Zaragoza-Delicias train station and gets to Spain’s capital at approximately 9:10pm.

What does the Zaragoza Card include?

The 24-hour Zaragoza Card includes:

  • Free entrance to the main landmarks and museums: The Seo, El Pilar Basilica and its panoramic lift, Aljafería Palace, the 4 museums of the Roman route, among many more.
